LaKesha is running for Congress because North Carolina’s 14th District deserves a representative who shows up, pays attention, and leads with integrity. She brings a proven record of turning vision into action, championing equitable policy, and supporting communities through both crisis and opportunity. From protecting voting rights and affordable health care to expanding economic mobility and helping working families, LaKesha’s leadership will center the people of this district at every step.
This campaign is grounded in a simple but powerful promise:
Listening to you. Learning from you. Leading for you in Congress.
Who is in North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District?
North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District is one of the most diverse and dynamic regions in our state. It is a place where rural strength, small-town values, and growing suburban communities meet. Our district spans foothills and farmland, small towns and mill communities, and the edges of fast-growing suburban corridors connected to the Charlotte metro area. Like the United States, this district brings together people from all walks of life who share a deep commitment to family, hard work, and creating a better future for the next generation.

🗳️ Why This Matters for Representation
NC-14’s diversity means that no single story defines us. From access to health care and strong public schools to economic opportunity and infrastructure, each part of the district faces unique challenges and contributes unique strengths.
That’s why our representation must be grounded in listening and shaped by the real experiences of people across the district.
I understand this deeply because I grew up in a rural town and have lived in cities of all sizes. I’ve felt the rhythms of rural life, navigated the opportunities and challenges of mid-sized cities, and experienced the rapid growth of urban centers. These experiences help me understand the needs of all our communities, not just one type.
And across every place I’ve lived, one truth remains constant:
We all want a better future for ourselves and our children.
That shared hope is the foundation of this campaign — and the reason I am committed to listening to you, learning from you, and leading for you in Congress.
Most candidates focus their campaign on their agenda. But I believe authentic leadership requires listening. I don’t want to simply present a list of priorities. I want to work with you to build an agenda that reflects our shared values and the future we want for North Carolina’s 14th District.
I know what’s important to me: affordable health care for every family, real pathways to economic mobility, and access to equitable, high-quality education in every community.
But I also want to hear from you.
What issues matter most in your daily life? What challenges are you facing? What opportunities do you want to see created for your family, your business, and your neighborhood?
Your voice will shape this campaign.
Your concerns will guide my priorities. Together, we can build a vision that truly represents the people, not the powerful, and deliver the kind of leadership that listens first, learns continually, and leads with integrity in Congress.
